A very interesting observation @Koen. It is quite possible that the illustrator has distributed the faces and thus the position of the nymphs in the section in this way. Then he probably changed his mind and moved the lying nymph further up because it fits better there. The nymph below stands free without another in the background. Otherwise the row of nymphs would have been visually "disturbed".
