I don't understand why the Voynich Manuscript text should be considered written in abjad, after all, those who don't consider VM glyphs as letters, do not know the difference between consonants and vowels, and those who recognize some Latin letter-shapes can easily recognize all four vowels - a, e, i, o, u. The reason why some words look like they are written in abjad is in the way Slavic nations had transcribed their Glagolitic alphabet into Latin letters. Glagolitic alphabet had two different letters for semi-vowels, which became dropped when the words were written with Latin letters. This is well documented in various grammar books. However, since the OCS also had long and short vowels, the short vowels were sometimes also dropped, if they were not stressed, but the long vowels were always written.
