Possible reference for Rosettes page
#1
I am not sure if it was mentioned 10 years ago or so but I'll share it anyway  Smile

If you look closely at the top central "wheel" at the Rosettes page, you will see something like a "clock hand" pointing down:

I have found something similar. Unfortunately I don't have the manuscript name:

(I could share the full page of my reference if someone is interested)

Can you see a similar "clock hand" pointing down?

And it is signed. The word was hard for me but I believe it says stil9 which is stilus and is simply a description of that pointer:

Google Gemini gives the following reading and translation of the text:

"Hemisperium est medietas sphaerae nati[v]a qua pluvies designat[ur]. XII. diei horarum numero quibus solis p[re]sentia u[m]bra ai[m] tra[n]situ solis p[re]tereundo distinguit[ur] a parte et ex t[re]mitate ad alteram usq[ue] ad liliu[m] u[m]bra p[re]terit hemisperiu[m]."

"A hemisphere is the natural half of a sphere by which [the path of light] is designated. By the number of 12 hours of the day, in which the presence of the sun is distinguished from the shadow by the passing movement of the sun, from one side and extremity to the other, until the shadow passes the hemisphere at the line."

I am not 100% sure but it seems to me a description of sundial

Could it be the inspiration for this Rosettes part?
